I normally don’t leave reviews but they deserve the best review. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!! I went to this shelter twice, the first time I wasn’t too joyed by the person helping me, but the second time I got a full tour and ended up finding my pup after being suggested to look at him. I was hesitant at first because he wasn’t one of the pups on their website that I originally went to look at, but I trusted the young lady helping me and she was absolutely right. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming the second time around and allowed me to do a doggie night out with my boy and gave me a leash, harness, a bag of food, and a cage for him to sleep in. He came already leash trained, house trained, kennel trained, and knew a few tricks as well. You can tell they spend time with the pups when they can. They gave me no hassle when I felt like one night was not enough and allowed me to foster him for a few weeks longer. After 2 weeks fostering I decided to adopt him. Anyways I’ve officially had “Hippity”, now Smokey, for 1 and a half months (2 months if you count my fostering time). Thank you to everyone at the shelter who helped me find my boy!! I will be back again in the future.

Shelter manager was awesome! I went on a “tour” wasn’t allowed to see everything…..Horry Co should really step it up! The staff works their tail off and these animals are not in acceptable spaces. Almost every person there was delightful. I really felt bad for the animals. They deserve a lot more! This is a service that with all the new residence paying taxes should be upgraded extensively
